Tonawanda News 25 March 1961 North Tonawanda NY Drowns After Wreck Medina (UPI) - Charles D. Lake, 29, of Lockport, drowned Friday night, when his car skidded at an intersection of routes 63 and 104 and nosed into an abandoned stone quarry three miles north of this village. Lake's death marked the third traffic death during the last year in the quarry, known as Herman George's Pond.
