Quad-City Times; Davenport IA; 2001-3-27 Charles Lake March 27, 2001 BETTENDORF -- Charles G. Lake, Bettendorf, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at University Hospitals, Iowa City. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at McGinnis, Chambers & Sass Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport, with military services conducted. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Lake was employed in the maintenance department at Oscar Mayer Foods Corp., Davenport. He retired in 1996. For the past three years, he drove a shuttle bus for Medic EMS of Davenport. In earlier years, he worked at the former International Harvester, Farmall Works, Rock Island. He was born May 8, 1932, in Glen Ellyn, Ill. He married Betty Stebens in 1996 in Moline. During the Korean War, he served in the Army. Memorials may be made to American Red Cross. Survivors include his wife, Betty, daughters, Marjorie Lesco of Florida and Vickie Webb, Denver, a son, Ronnie, Dubuque, Iowa, a stepdaughter, Sherrill Kipp, Davenport, a stepson, Steve Stebens, Buffalo, Iowa, seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, sisters, Laveta Hodgerson, Moline, Lillian Dyer, Silvis, Ill., Mary Schmidt, Bettendorf, Nancy Johnson, Milan, Ill., and Margaret Hartley, Galesburg, Ill., a brother, James, Davenport, and a foster brother, Charles Motsinger, Moline.
