Journal Inquirer; Vernon CT; 2003-4-30 LAKE Charles R. Lake, 66, of French Road, Manchester, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at his home. He was the husband of Nancy (Dreher) Lake. Charles was born in Sandwich, Mass., Oct. 20, 1936, son of the late Robert and Nettie (Smith) Lake. He moved from Cape Cod, Mass., to Stafford Springs, and from Willington to Manchester 27 years ago. Prior to his retirement 3 years ago, he was employed by Abbott-Ball, West Hartford, with 25 years of service. He retired from the Army National Guard, Rockville Unit. He is survived by Nancy's children, Richard Flaherty of Manchester, Christine Chessey of Vernon, and Lynda Flaherty of West Hartford; a brother, Robert E. Lake of Stafford Springs; 3 sisters, April Griffin and Jean Beverage, both of Stafford Springs, and Mabel Lake of Connecticut; five grandsons, Gregory, Jason, and Zachary Chessey, Isaiah Hill and Richie Flaherty; and five granddaughters, Samantha and Jessica Chessey, Shauntay and Nicole Hill, and Caitlin Flaherty. His funeral will be Wednesday, April 30, 2003, 10 a.m. at White-Gibson-Small Funeral Home, 65 Elm St., Rockville, with the Rev. Donald Hegeman officiating. Interment will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville.
