THE NEWS TRIBUNE (Tacoma, WA); Wednesday, March 19, 2008; B6; Col. 5 CHARLOTTE H. LAKE Born 21 July 1926 in Berlin, Germany, passed away peacefully on 16 March 2008, after an extended illness. She was married for 55 years to Kenneth Lake and had resided in Lakewood, WA, for the last 46 years. She will be sorely missed by her husband and daughter, Karen Lake-Shampain, her sister Elfriede, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister in Berlin. Charlotte worked for the National Bank of Washington at the Fort Lewis branch during the early 1970s. She and Kenneth loved the Hawaiian Islands, visiting there some 25 times. Her favorite island was Kauai. She did not want a funeral service, and in lieu of flowers, suggested a gift to the Franciscan Hospice Foundation, at P.O. Box 1502, Tacoma, WA 98401 or a charity of choice. Charlotte, you are now free of pain and we will always love you.
