Funeral for Charlotte Birdsong Lake, 68, of Decatur will be Thursday,
Feb. 12, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Buddy Champion officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6
to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lake died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at Huntsville Hospital. She was
born Feb. 21, 1935, in Decatur to Newt W. Birdsong and Grace Whitlock
Birdsong. She was a lifelong resident of Decatur and a member of First
Baptist Church. She was the owner of Pat's Feminine Apparel and later
worked as an office manager for Radiology Group.

Survivors include two sons, Gary L. Payne and wife Jeanne and Scott Payne
and wife Billie; one brother, Charles Ronald Birdsong and wife Jean;
one sister,

Opal Lucille Terry; five grandchildren, Adam Payne, Blake Payne,
Jason Payne, Amanda Payne Strange and Allison Payne; and two
great-grandchildren, Raven Payne and Kendall Strange.

Pallbearers will be Joe Fears, David Duke, Dwayne Pierce, Marvin Bryant,
Jeff Warden and Dennis Davis.
