Published in the Ann Arbor News on MLive.com from 6/17/2005 - 6/19/2005. Ann Arbor, MI Clara Husse Husse, Clara Ypsilanti, MI Age 92, Died Wednesday, June 15, 2005 with her loving family at her side. She was born July 4, 1912, in New York City, New York, the daughter of Richard and Ida (Guckel) Lake. On June 27, 1934, she married Leonard R. Husse in Detroit, Michigan, and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1997. Mrs. Husse was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for 70 years. She was a bookkeeper for 35 years for local moving and storage companies. Mrs. Husse was a member of the Ypsilanti and Ypsilanti Twp. Senior Citizens and also volunteered many hours at Beyer Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She will always be remembered for her enjoyment of dining at various restaurants, love of traveling, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include one daughter: Anita L. Henlein of Ypsilanti; one granddaughter: Laura M. (Brian) LemMon of Sterling Heights; one great granddaughter: Alyssa Claire LemMon and another great grandchild expected this coming winter; one brother: Richard Lake of Detroit; one sister, Alma Kehoe of Royal Oak and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by many treasured friends who enriched her life. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, George Henlein. Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 20, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Edmond Ertzbischoff as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to Arbor Hospice or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at Janowiak Funeral Home, Geer-Logan Chapel where the family will receive friends Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
