     Clara  Susie  Zimmerman, 102, formerly of 921 Webster St., died Tuesday, 
May 25, 1999, in the Solon Care Center after a lengthy illness.   Graveside 
services: 2:30 p.m. today, Lone Tree Cemetery, Lone Tree, by the Rev. Dr. Tom 
Brown.   Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. today at George L. Gay Funeral 
Home and Crematorium, Iowa City.

     Memorials may be given to the Mary O'Coldren Home.

     Clara Susie Zimmerman was born Sept. 16, 1896, in Hills, the daughter of 
Morris and Susie Shaffer Lake.   She married Herman W. "Pete" Zimmerman on 
May 13, 1917, in Lone Tree.   She was a cook at Mercy Hospital, the Mary 
O'Coldren Home and for some of the fraternities in town.   She was a member 
of First Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star, Eagles and the Moose.

     She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967; a daughter, Patricia 
Lamar, in 1968; a son, H. W. "Bud" Zimmerman, in 1982; four grandchildren; a 
sister; and four brothers.

     Survivors include a son, William "Bill" Zimmerman of Louisville, Ky; tow 
daughters, Ruby Cozine of Tucson, Ariz., and Charlene Clements of Placencia, 
Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 12 
great-great-grandchildren.
