From the Staten Island Advance Staten Island, NY 6 Oct 2007 DANIEL MENICHELLA, 65 Textiile [sic] executive retired only last week Saturday, October 06, 2007 STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Daniel A. Menichella, 65, of Scotch Plains, N.J., a textile executive and native Staten Islander, died Thursday at home. Born in New Brighton, he also lived in New Dorp and Dongan Hills before settling in Scotch Plains 31 years ago. Mr. Menichella's career in the textile industry spanned 45 years. He had worked for Greenwood Mills, Spring Industries and Joshua L. Bailey Inc. before retiring last week as vice president of Raytex Travis, Woodbury, N.Y. He was a graduate of New Dorp High School. In his leisure time, Mr. Menichella enjoyed playing golf, dining out and spending time with his family and friends. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church, Scotch Plains, where he served as an usher. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, the former Mary Ann Lake; his daughter, Danielle Allen; two sisters, Grace Acquafredda and Patricia Brennan, and a granddaughter. The funeral will be Monday from the Memorial Funeral Home, Fanwood, N.J., with a mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Entombment will follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
