From an upstate NY newspaper ... DAVID F. KOMONCZI Middletown, N.Y. David F. Komonczi of Middletown, a truck driver having retired from McLean's Trucking, died Friday, December 3, 2004 at home. He was 56. The son of Francis and Nanette Hetrick Komonczi, he was born on December 12, 1947 in Clearfield, Pa. A highly decorated veteran, Mr Komonczi served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was awarded 31 Air Medals and the Skeleton Green Beret. He was a member of the Walden Sportsman Club and the Montgomery VFW. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Komonczi, at home; his son, James D. Komonczi and his wife, Nancy, of Westbrookville; and his grandchildren, Keith Lake and his wife, Jennifer, Kevin Lake and Nicole Komonczi. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Komonczi and his wife, Jean, of Currwinsville, Pa.; his sister, Nanette Walters and her husband, Roger, of Middletown; and his half brother, Arthur Mains and his wife, Mary-Lou of Alaska; as well as several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Bear. Visitation hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc., 72 West Main Street, Middletown. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Orange County Veteran Cemetery, Goshen.
