David Lake
David Lake, 78, Punta Gorda, died Jan. 9, 2001.
He was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Gaines, Mich., and was a winter resident for
the last 14 years, coming from Bancroft, Mich. He was a farmer and a
courier for 28 years with the Flint Michigan Journal. He was an Army
veteran of World War II, having served with the 11th Airborne.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae; four daughters, Connie Noble of
Novi, Mich., Kathy Wickham of St. Johns, Mich., Jill Newbecker of
Brancroft and Lorraine Coleman of Centerville, Ohio; two sons, David of
Bancroft and Ron of Perry, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be later in Michigan. National Cremation Society,
Port Charlotte chapter, is in charge.
