Donald Edward Lake, age 72 passed away on Friday, October 25, 2002, at
Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born on June 9, 1930, in Franklin
County, Indiana, the son of Allen and Dorothy (Shearer) Lake. He graduated
from Hamilton High School in 1948. On December 26, 1951, Donald married
Hazel Evelyn Hart at St. Mary's Parish in Hamilton, Ohio. He served in
the United States Army and upon his return, he settled in Butler County
as a self-employed farmer. Donald served on the Board of Directors for
Butler Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. from 1972 until his death. He
also served on the Butler Soil and Water Conservation District Board for
thirty years.  Mr. Lake is survived by his wife and nine children, Randall
(Sharee) of Jerome, Idaho, Anne Shera of San Diego, California, William of
Darrtown, Nancy (Don) Swearingen of Riverside, California, John (Jennifer)
of Oxford, Dean (Jennifer) of Oxford, David of San Diego, California,
Sarah (Rick) Kinney of Coronado, California, and Russell of Hamilton;
nine grandchildren, Cody Lake, Kevin, Ryan and Cara Swearingen, Kayla
and Dalton Kinney, Augustus and Quinten Lake, Austin Lake and a special
sister-in-law, Betty Gross and her husband Ralph. Donald was preceded in
death by his parents; a brother, George Allen Lake and his eldest son,
Edward Scott Lake. He was loved very much and will be missed by all who
knew him.  Funeral service will be held at Webb Noonan Funeral Home,
Ross Avenue at South "D" Street, Hamilton, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday,
October 29, 2002.  Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation
will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
