Leader-Telegram Online Edition - Friday, July 25, 2014 Published at Eau Claire, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin Donna Sydansk In loving memory of Donna Birdell Sydansk (nee Lake), who passed away on July 21, 2014, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Donna was born May 20, 1929, in Gettysburg, South Dakota, and was raised in Watertown, South Dakota. While living in Denver, Colorado, she met Marvin Sydansk, and they were married on June 1, 1949. They were soulmates until the day he died and beyond. His career transferred him often, and they made their home in various places around the country as they raised a family, ultimately settling in Eau Claire. Donna worked part-time as a bookkeeper at various firms and was active in her community, serving as President of P.E.O., and participating in book and bridge clubs. She was an avid diarist and Shirley Temple collector, and was very devoted to her three grandchildren, Luke, Lara, and Lane. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; and her sister, Shirley Perman (Clayton). She is survived by her two daughters, Kim Erickson (Jim) and Gina Vander Heiden (Gary); her brother, Harold Lake (Sharon); her three grandchildren; three nephews and two nieces; and her granddog, Rose. Donna's family would like to thank her many friends and caring neighbors, as well as Dr. Jean Anderson and the health care professionals at Mayo Hospice. A memorial visitation will be held at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home on Saturday, July 26, from 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Donna requested donations to be made to the Eau Claire County Humane Association.
