The Advocate Newark OH 1 Jan 2014 NEWARK: A funeral service for Dorothy E. Lake, age 77, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Friends may call from 11 am-1 pm prior to the service. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens. Dorothy was born April 11, 1936 in Newark, Ohio to the late Charles and Nora Dell (Allberry) Garrard. She passed away on December 31, 2013 at her home. Dorothy retired from the Newark Healthcare Centre where she was employed in housekeeping. She was a member of the Newark Eagles #387 R.E.A.C. Group. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, Bingo, reading, going to yard sales and gambling at Wheeling Downs. She is survived by seven children, William F. (Michelle) Lake, Jr. of Danville, Terry L. (Dianne) Lake of Newark, Ricky J. Lake of Newark, Debbie (Frank) Kvintus of Newark, Charles F. Lake of Hebron, Paul D. (Diana) Lake of Newark and Brian R. (Terri) Lake of Hebron; former daughter-in-law, Megan Lake of Newark; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Willey of Arizona; sisters, Sally Conklin of Frazeysburg and Ruth Hobbs of Nashport; brother-in-law, Mark Lake, Sr. of Newark; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Lake, Sr., on October 6, 2002; and by a great-granddaughter; a brother, Earl Willey; and a sister, Bonnie Wilson.
