Elko Daily Freepress Elko, Nv 6/7/99 Dorothy Jean Lake dies Monday, June 07, 1999 Dorothy Jean Lake, longtime resident of Battle Mountain, died at her home there Thursday. She was 70 years old. She was born March 14, 1929, in Buffalo, Mo., to John William Proctor Moad and Della E. Ellis. She moved to Nevada in 1945 and attended schools in Fallon. She met her husband of 43 years, Don Lake, in Austin. They were married Nov. 5, 1950, in Elko. They lived in Salt Lake City and Deeth until April 1959, when they moved to Battle Mountain. They owned and operated Midway Market. She retired in 1990. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and her home. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, John and Lorri Ergle of Salt Lake City; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Janey Lake of Battle Mountain; grandsons, Jacob Ergle of Salt Lake City, Daniel and Michael Lake and granddaughter, Amy Lake; sister, Lorene Dolan of Reno; stepsister, Dorris Jean Cross of Beatty; and two nephews and two nieces. Visitation will be from 10-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the LDS Church, 785 W. Humboldt St., in Battle Mountain. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Battle Mountain cemetery. Burns Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
