Dorothy L. (Bliss) Lake
LAKE, Dorothy L. (Bliss) - Of Flint, age 97, Journeyed home with the Lord
on Saturday, June 14, 2008. Funeral service will be held at 2PM, Tuesday,
June 17, 2008 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor
Scott Southerland of Hopewell General Baptist officiating.  Burial in
Stiles Cemetery, Lapeer, MI. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made
to Flint Avalon Hospice. Visitation family will receive visitors from
1-8PM Monday at the funeral home. Dorothy was born in Flint, Michigan
on March 18, 1911, the daughter of Sewell and Jeanette (Rose) May. She
resided in the Flint area most of her life. She married Lloyd Bliss Sr. on
January 14, 1928 in Flint and he preceded her in death in March 1969. On
September 3, 1989 Dorothy married Victor Lake in Sacramento, CA and he
preceded her in death in October 2003.  Surviving are children, Lloyd and
Gladys Bliss, Jr., Doris (Mowl) Kendall, Roy and Delores (Lake) Bennett;
13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 9 great great-grandchildren;
many nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in death by
2 sons-in-law; 1 son and 1 granddaughter. The family extends their
