California Democrat California, Missouri October 2, 2002 LAKE Dorothy Lake, 85, Versailles, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. She was born Oct. 21, 1916, in Moniteau County, daughter of Raymond and Eulah Campbell Worthley. She was married Jan. 20, 1940, in Eldon, to Wilmer Lake, who survives of the home. She worked as a cook at High Point School for five years. She was a member of the Friendship Quilting Club, High Point, and charter member of the Ninth Street Christian Church, Eldon. Other survivors include: two sons, Donald Lake, Columbia, and Harold Lake, Mountain Grove; two daughters, Juanita Branstetter, Belton, and Anita Cox, Harrisburg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held Friday at Ninth Street Christian Church with Minister Don Renken and Minister Tom Farrington officiating. Burial was in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett. Arrangements were under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Memorials may be made to Ninth Street Christian Church, Eldon.
