Salisbury Post (online edition) Salisbury, NC April 8, 2002 & April 9, 2002 Dorothy Lakey Walker MOCKSVILLE - Dorothy Mae Lakey Walker, 76, Crestview Drive, formerly of Powell Road, died Saturday (April 6, 2002) at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem. Born March 21, 1926, in Yadkin County, Mrs. Walker was a daughter of the late Hiram and Margaret Todd Lakey. A 1943 graduate of Mocksville High School, she worked for N.C. Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, and retired from Davie County Hospital. She was a member of Mocksville First Baptist Church. Her husband, Ray Johnson "Johnny" Walker, died in 1995. Survivors include son Dwight T. Creason, Mocksville; daughters Judy C. Fuller, York, S.C., and Carol C. Roberson, Mocksville; brother Clyde Lakey, Mocksville; sister Margaret R. Lakey, Mocksville; and four grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Eaton Funeral Service chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. David Gilbreath and the Rev. Jimmy Lancaster. Burial, Center United Methodist Church cemetery. Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home. The rest of the time, the family will be at the home on Crestview Drive. Winston-Salem Journal; Winston-Salem NC; 2002-4-8 WALKER MOCKSVILLE - Mrs. Dorothy Mae Lakey Walker, 76, of Crestview Drive, formerly of Powell Road, died late Saturday afternoon at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Walker was born in Yadkin County, March 21, 1926, to the late Hiram and Margaret Todd Lakey and had been a ward clerk with Davie County Hospital retiring in 1991. She had previously been with The N.C. Baptist Hospital. She was a graduate of the Mocksville High School, class of 1943, and was a member of the Mocksville First Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed reading. Preceding her in death, including her parents, is her husband, Ray Johnson "Johnny" Walker, in 1995, and also three brothers, Charlie Lakey, Cecil Lakey and Wayne Lakey. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James (Judy C.) Fuller of York, S.C., Carol C. Roberson of Mocksville, a son Dwight T. Creason of Mocksville, four grandchildren, Mrs. Jack (Jennifer) Dehring, Michelle Roberson, Caleb Creason and Rachel Creason, a sister, Margaret Ruth Lakey, and a brother, Clyde Lakey, both of Mocksville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Eaton Funeral Chapel with Dr. David Gilbreath and the Rev. Jimmy Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Monday night from 7 to 9 p.m. and at other times at the residence on Crestview Drive.
