Hagerstown Morning Herald (MD) August 19, 2002 Edith V. Lake, 91, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown. Born Aug. 5, 1911, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie M. Wilkes Manious. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter P. Lake, in 1974. She retired from Hagerstown Shoe Co. after 35 years. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, where she was a member of the Sunday School class and a volunteer for the food bank. She was a member of Haven Lutheran Church Senior Citizens Group and Alexander House Senior Citizens Group. She is survived by two nieces, Patricia M. Manious of Smithsburg, and Faye P. Ritzman of Hagerstown; and one nephew, Jacob R. Hendricks Jr. of Hagerstown. She was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence W. Manious. Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, North Potomac Street, Hagerstown. The Rev. David Kaplan will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
