Lang LANCASTER - Edna Evelyn Lang, 76, formerly of Groveton, died peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2002 at Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center in Lancaster, where she had been a resident for the past 23 years. Born on January 7, 1926 in Northumberland, a daughter of William J. and Edna H. (Haynes) Lakin, Edna grew up in Groveton, then moved to Concord. She attended Groveton elementary and high schools. Edna was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church. She was very active with her nieces and nephews when she was younger and able to be. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kermit Lang, of West Milan; one sister, Eleanor Mae Bacon, of Groveton; one sister-in-law, Agnes Lakin, of Groveton; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Alfred, William, Leon and Milton Lakin; and one sister, Leta Donovan. Calling hours were held on May 20 at the Main-Armstrong Funeral Home in Groveton, and funeral services were held there on May 21 with the Rev. Fred Lawrence, pastor of the Groveton United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial followed in the Northumberland Cemetery in Groveton.
