EDNA E. MICHAEL
FROSTBURG -- Edna E. Michael, 85, formerly of Frostburg and Cumberland, died
Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Magnolia Hall Nursing Home, Chestertown.
Born on May 10, 1916, in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late
William C. and Mary E. (Sigler) Lakin. She was also preceded in death by her
husband, Edgar Michael in 1962.
Mrs. Michael was a former member of Salem United Church of Christ,
Frostburg.
Surviving are one son, Glen Michael, Chestertown; three daughters, Martha
Gilbar and husband Douglas, Norfolk, Va., Mary Freeman and husband Ron,
Friendsville, Pa., and Wanda Michael, Derry, N.H.; seven grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Stup, Walkersville, Catherine
Conway, Walkersville, and Mary Margaret Clark, Thurmont; and one brother,
Charles Lakin, Frederick.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St.,
Frostburg, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. with the
Rev. William B. Shrout Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
