EDNA SOMMER Newburgh, N.Y. Edna Sommer, a 67 year resident of Newburgh passed away February 2, 2002 at Cornwall Hospital. She was 86. She was the daughter of the late Russell Crawford and Rachel Lake Crawford. She was born November 9, 1915 in Napanoch, N.Y. She was a member of the Grace United Church of Newburgh. For 25 years she worked for Fanny Farmer of Newburgh. She then worked for a number of years for Lloyd's of Newburgh in the houseware department. She was a wonderful, loving person who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband Charles (Carl) of 67 years. Survivors also include two grandchildren, Dana Wilson and her husband, Brad of Tocoma, WA and Kurt Engness and his wife, Kim of Newburgh; one great- grandchild, Tyler Engness of New Jersey; four nieces, Arlene Brown and her husband Harold of Grahamsville, N.Y., Charlene Erceg and her husband, Jack of Sedona, AZ, Lorraine Strath and her husband, Stanley, of Saugerties, and Joan Sheeley and her husband, Terry, of Napanoch. She was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Engness and a brother, Harrison Crawford. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2002 at Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home Inc., 318 N. Montgomery St., Newburgh. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 at the funeral home. Reverend Carlos Lantis will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In a family statement, it was said; "She was a wonderful, loving person who will be greatly missed." She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles "Carl" Sommer, at home; two grandchildren and their spouses, Dana and Brad Wilson of Tocoma, Wash., and Kurt and Kim Engness of Newburgh; a great-grandson, Tyler Engness of New Jersey; and four nieces and their husbands, Arlene and Harold Brown of Grahamsville, Charlene and Jack Erceg of Sedona, Ariz., Lorraine and Stanley Sheeley of Napanoch.
