The Spokesman-Review; Spokane, WA; 2008-3-1 LAKE, Edwin Arthur (Age 61) Edwin Lake went back to God on February 24th, 2008. He died at the home he loved so much. Ed was born December 11, 1946, in Spokane, WA to Art and Lucille (Shallbetter) Lake. He was a Deer Park High School graduate and an Army veteran from 1965-1968. He went on to work at various things, one of which was a drilling company for 15 years, then got into hydraulics. He was so happy and proud to start his own business in 1994, with his wife and best friend of 42 years, Marikay, where they both worked together "like two peas in a pod". Ed loved laughing with his family, Nascar, to fish and camp with Kaye, painting and wood carving, and of course bird hunting with faithful ol' Brandy dog. If you ever met Ed, you remembered him. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, you were his friend for life. You all gave him many years of great stories and memories that will live on in all of you. Ed's family includes: his wife Kaye, his daughter and son-in-law Cyndi and Troy Saarlo and their children, Krystal and Papa's boys, Christopher ("Kid"), Matthew ("Spud") and Preston ("Lil' P"), and his sister Caroline Ann. Eddy, you were the best dad, friend, man and papa God ever made and we are proud to say you're ours. XOX Memorial services will be held on Saturday March 8th, 2008 at 2:00pm at the Open Door Congregational Church, located at 205 N. Main St., in Deer Park followed by a get together at the Eagles Lodge, also in Deer Park. Please come, it means so much to us to see all of you that meant so much to him.
