Lake Luebstorff, 87, formerly of Chippewa Falls, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at the Greeley Nursing Home in Stillwater, Minn. She was born Aug. 31, 1913, in Cadott to Eva (Connell) and Joseph Patrie. She grew up in the town of Arthur. Ella married Arthur Lake on April 19, 1937, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church rectory in Cadott. They resided in Chippewa Falls. She and her husband owned and operated Lake's Supper Club in Bateman until 1958. She was then employed as a waitress at the Hotel Northern and in the Tomahawk Room for many years. Her husband preceded her in death in November, 1973. Ella married Verne B. Luebstorff on Oct. 30, 1978. She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church and its P.C.C.W., and a member of the LaFayette Womens Club. Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Lake of Minneapolis, Minn., Russell (Joyce) Luebstorff of East Rochester, N.Y.; her son-in-law, Don Lutz of Stillwater, Minn.; three sisters, Blanche Woldt of Chippewa Falls, Lucille Holm of Bloomer, Doris Nelson of Seattle, Wash.; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Verne Luebstorff on Nov. 22, 1989; her parents; her daughter, Lois Lutz; two sisters, Charlotte Miller, Ruth Smith; and four brothers, Marshall, Jim, Hugh, and Bernard Patrie. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Notre Dame Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerome Robinson celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in the family lot at Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls. The Notre Dame P.C.C.W. will recite the Rosary at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
