The Spectrum St George UT Article published Jun 27, 2006 ELNA THAYNE READY St. George - Elna Thayne Ready, 84, passed away on Sunday , June 25, 2006, at the Saint George Care Center. She was born on October 5, 1921, in Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Nephi Whork and Orrissa Allred Thayne. She married Richard Levi Ready on November 29, 1946, in Yuma, AZ, and this union was later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple. Elna always claimed she visited every state in the union except Hawaii and Alaska. She took us (her children) to Utah every year. She and Rich built her dream dome house in Joshua Tree, California, and it was her pride and joy. Our mother never met a stranger. She touched many lives because of her joy and winning smile, and she was always there with a story or two. She is survived by daughters, Darla Dart and husband, Jimmy, of St. George, Ut, Melissa Sukut and husband, Danny, of Idaho; sons, Richard Marlo Teady and wife, Tanna, of New Harmony, Ut, Melvin Thayne Ready and wife, Laura, of Downy, Ca; 25 granchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Bodily, of Far West, Ut, Lela Graves and husband, Jo, of Lancaster, Ca; four brothers, Orville Thayne and wife, Frieda, of Bend Or, Lloyd Thayne, of Syracuse, Ut, Darrel Thayne and wife, Vicky , of Tucson, Az, and Rey Thayne and wife, Mona, of South Salt Lake, Ut. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Levi Ready. Funeral services will be Tuesday, the 27th of June 2006, at 4: 00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, with a viewing from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. prior to services, at the Mortuary. Interment will be Thursday, the 29th of June 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain Valley Memorial Park in Yucca Valley, California.
