She was born on August 24, 1915, the daughter of John and Sarah Lake, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ronald in 1986. She is survived by three children, Nancy (Dick) Curry, Jack Hasbrouck, Edward (Sara) Hasbrouck; four grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; ten stepgreat-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; two sisters, Bessie Earl and Jessie Eitel; numerous nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Pauline Stapelton. Elsie retired from the Leslie Public Schools after 24 years of service. She was also a life member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Leslie Congregational United Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at the Robertson Funeral Home, Leslie Chapel, on Monday, December 11, 2000, 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Susan Hunnicutt officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Leslie Congregational Church of Christ.
