Telegraph Journal; Saint John NB Canada; 2011-4-14 Elsie May Hathaway (January 3, 1916 - April 12, 2011) Hathaway, Elsie May -- The passing of Elsie Hathaway of Plaster Rock, NB occurred on April 12, 2011 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital at the age of 95. Born in Birmingham, England she was the daughter of the late John & Elizabeth Lake. Elsie is survived by four daughters Sybil (Lionel) St. Amand of Everett, Queenie (Wayne) DeLeavey of North View, Denise Hathaway (Perley Munn) of Bathurst, Debbie Hathaway (Rick Player) of Riverview; one son Robin (Marlene) Hathaway of Centreville; two daughters-in-law Irene Hathaway of Alberta and Pauline Porter of Oxbow; 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren; foster sister Rose MacCullam and foster brother Louis Diamond; special friends Ron Haddad and Harold Short-Evans; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband Roy Hathaway, daughter Lois Porter, son John Clarence Hathaway, grandsons Pernell and Stephen, son-in-law John Porter, brother John and sister-in-law Jean and infant sister Bessie. Resting at White's Chapel, 85 Centennial St. Plaster Rock with visiting hours on Friday April 15th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday April 16th at 11 am from White's Chapel with Rev. Leonard Cousins officiating. Internment in the Burntland Brook Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Douglas Porter, Ricky DeLeavey, Marshall St. Amand, David Porter, Justin Porter and Ian Hathaway. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony St. Amand, Jordan Porter and Koel Porter. Memorial donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
