The Chronicle-Herald, Volume 59, Number 300 Halifax NS Canada Saturday, December 15th, 2007 LAKE, Embert Raymond; 88; formerly of New Ross, Lunenburg Co, passed away Thursday, December 13; 2007; in the Veteran's Unit of Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on March 31; 1919; in Mount Denson, Hants Co, he was a son of the late George and Ethel (Spearing) Lake. Embert was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He served proudly overseas and was a veteran of the Second World War. Surviving are sons, Paul (Gwen), Yarmouth; Joe, Leftbridge, Alta; David, Spirit River, Alta; daughters, Dawn (Terry) Mitchell, Linda and Mary, all of London, Ont; Roseine, Alberta; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Evaline Harris-Lake; second wife, Ruth Jollymore-Lake; son, Danny in infancy; brothers, John and James; sisters, Christine and Gertrude. There will be no visitation in the funeral home. A graveside service will take place and be announced at a later date in New Ross Baptist Cemetery, New Ross.
