Ernest Lake

Ernest Lake, 72, of 202 Coleman St., husband of Bobbie Jean Scott Lake,
died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003 at Self Regional Medical Center.  Born in
Columbia, S. C., he was a son of the late GoRee and Willie Mae Dorley
Lake. He attended Greenwood Public School, was a veteran of the Korean
conflict, a member of the American Legion and retired from the Virginia
Military Institute, Lexington, Va. He was of the Baptist faith.  Survivors
include his wife of the home; four sons, Ernest Lake, Larry Lake, Randy
Lake, and Darryl Lake of Greenwood; two daughters, Mrs.  Tony (Georgette)
Davis and Mrs. Anthony (Vanessa) Williams of Greenwood; two brothers,
Blueford Cheeks of Clinton and William Cheeks Jr. of Spartanburg; four
sisters, Josie Nance, Mrs. John (Patsy) Copeland of Clinton, Mrs. Albert
(Evelyn) Williams of Cross Anchor and Betty Blueford of Mountville;
two foster sisters, Mattie Scott and Louis Norman of Philadelphia; 15
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home.
