The Oakland Press, Pontiac MI, 14 Jan 2002, Page A-9; 15 Jan 2002 Page A-9 LAKE, Esther Parker; age 92; of Holly, passed on peacefully at home early Sunday, January 13, 2002, with her loving great nephew Timothy James Lake at her side. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday at Lakeside Cemetery, Holly with Pastor Ed Pedley officiating. Mrs. Lake was born in Davisburg on April 12, 1909, the daughter of Walter and Edith (Harpley) Parker. She graduated from Holly High School in 1927, Oakland County Normal in 1928 and Eastern Michigan University in 1954. She began teaching in Rose Center in 1928 and taught in the Holly Schools for 45 years. She was a dedicated teacher who never stopped teaching even after retirement. Her love and warmth will always be missed. She married Clare W. Lake on Agust 31, 1931, and they were married for 41 years. Clare died in 1972. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers Wesley L. Parker in 1986 and Martin L. Parker in 1995. She was a member of the Davisburg Methodist Church since 1920 and attended the First Baptist Church of Holly since 1931. She was also a member of Austin Electa Chapter #396 Q.E.S., Michigan Assoc. of Retired Teachers, and the Young at Heart of Davisburg. Surviving are her sister-in-law Helen C. Parker, nephews David W. Parker and James Lake; nieces Debra Parker, Mary Jo Ruebelman, and Joyce Lake; great nephews Timothy J. Lake, Christopher Parker, Jeffrey Parker, John Parker, and Bradley and Kimberly Lake. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements were made by the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly.
