Star-Herald Scottsbluff, NE November 28, 2000 ESTHER O. LAKE, 96, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Scottsbluff, left us to join her Lord peacefully on November 25,2000, after struggling many years with heart failure. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2000, at the Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff, with the Rev. Wayne Alloway officiating. Burial will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. She was born August 22, 1904, at Minden, Neb., to Robert Carl and Alma M. (Peters) Ernst. She married Cecil Lake on September 16, 1926 at Lexington. She lived in Scottsbluff for 47 years until moving to Dallas in 1986 due to declining health. She was able to live independently until a few months ago when she moved to Golden Acres in Dallas. She was a loving homemaker and mother and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Scottsbluff for 51 years. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Roneida Jean and Jerry Glynn Brandenburg of Dallas, Texas; two granddaughters, Sheri Lee Hagwood of Saginaw, Texas, and Becki Lynn Brandenburg of Arlington, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Lauren Hagwood of Saginaw, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years, and one grandson, Jerry Lee Brandenburg. "The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?
