ETHEL L. HALL DATE: FEBRUARY 25, 2000 -- MIDDLETOWN, NY. SOURCE: THE TIMES HERALD-RECORD Walden, N.Y. - Ethel L. Hall of Walden, a homemaker and lifelong resident of the area, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 71. The daughter of John and Hattie Krom Lake she was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Walden. Mrs. Hall was a member of Walden Senior Citizens; VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Maybrook; Golden Links Senior Citizens, Maybrook; and Coldenham Mothers Club. Survivors include her husband, Peter W. Hall Sr., at home; five sons, James Hall, Peter W. Hall Jr. and Kenneth Hall, all of Walden, Michael Hall of Middletown and Jeff Hall of Montgomery; two daughters, Susan Hall of Colorado and Patricia Grenda of Walden; four brothers, Fred Lake of Montgomery, Walter Lake of Wallkill, Donald Lake of Walden and John Lake of Ohio; one sister, Shirley DePace of Kingston; 16 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, Krista Brooke; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Jack, Edward, Charles and William Lake; and three sisters, Dorothy Toombs, Pearl Salyer and Alice Woodruff. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at the funeral home. Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements were made by Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Walden.
