Beaver County Times, February 25, 2004 Beaver County, PA Eugene Lake Formerly of Midland Eugene Lake, 62, of Los Angeles, CA formerly of Midland, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, in Los Angeles, CA. Born July 21, 1941, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Wilson and Eula Ray Lake. After graduating from Midland High School in 1960, he joined the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1964. Mr. Lake received a basketball scholarship to attend the University of Utah and graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. Mr. Lake retired in 1992 from Delta Airlines after 30 years of service. He began a second career with Federal Express in 1996 until his retirement in May of 2003. He lived for his children and especially his six grandchildren. He enjoyed golf, cooking and entertaining family and friends. He was also active in his faith with the Lord and continually studied the Bible. He was a member of West Angeles Church of God in Christ. He is survived by two sons, Desmond Quentin Johnson and Carnell Augustino Lake: two daughters-in-law, Catherine E. Johnson and Monica L. Lake; a sister, Elayne J. Minor; two brothers, Brent Taylor Lake and Jeffrey Carnell Lake; also surviving are six grandchildren, Lindsi M. Russo-Johnson, Colson Q. Johnson, Elizabeth J. Johnson, Siena M. Lake, Quentin J. Lake and Austin L. Lake. Besides his parents, he also was preceded in death by his sister, Claudia Mae and a brother, Richard. Fiends will be received on Sat. Feb. 28, 2004 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at the Church of the Living God, 343 Beaver Ave, Midland,PA. The Rev. Dr. J. Donald Mosley will be officiating with a private interment.
