EvaLee Griffith, 83, a resident of Garnett St., Philippi, passed away
Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at Broaddus Hospital.  She was born Sept. 5,
1925, in Barbour County a daughter of the late Delbert Clay and Ethel
(Willet) Lake.  She was united in marriage Dec. 23, 1944, to Brooks
Griffith who survives.  Also surviving are one son, Lyle B. and wife
Polly Griffith of Philippi; one sister, Anna Marie Rapp of Clarksburg; and
one grandson, Thomas Griffith of Philippi.  She was preceded in death by
one brother, Carl Lake.  Mrs. Griffith was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking,
flowers and was a member of the farm Bureau and Philippi Baptist Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut
St., Philippi, on Monday, Dec. 29, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday,
Dec. 30, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the service hour with Pastor Bryan
Headley officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial
Cemetery. Wright Funeral Home Services.
