 EVALENA HUGHES Evalena Hughes, 94, of Kansas City, MO, passed away October
30, 2001, at Independence Regional Health Center. Funeral services will be 1
p.m. Friday, November 2, at Sheil-Blackman Funeral Home. Burial in Blue
Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be half-an-hour prior to service. Memorial
contributions may be made to charity of donor's choice. Mrs. Hughes was born
March 11, 1907 in Pittsburg, KS, one of ten children. She was preceded in
death by her husband, James Hughes; son, Thomas Albert Schleininger; and
first husband, Albert Schleininger. Survived by daughter, Mary Gehrt of
Topeka, KS; brother, Linvelle Lakey of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren

KANSAS  CITY, MO -- Evalena HUGHES, 94, Kansas City MO, died Tuesday,
Oct 30, 2001, at an Independence, MO hospital.  She was born Mar 11,
1907, in Pittsburg.

Mrs Hughes was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert
SCHLEININGER, her second husband, James HUGHES, and a son, Thomas
Albert SCHLEININGER. Survivors include a daughter, Mary GEHRT, Topeka,
a brother, Lineville LAKEY, Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren; and
six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1pm Friday at the Sheil-Blackman Funeral Home
in Kansas City, MO.   Burial will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:30pm to service time Friday at the funeral
home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's
choice.
