Evelyn Mary Lake, 88, of Grand Island, died Thursday, Jan.4, 2001 in
Eustis.  Born in Detroit, she moved to Grand  Island from Ferndale,
MI, in 1991. She was a homemaker and a member of St. James Catholic
Church in Ferndale.  Survivors include her son, George P., of Troy, MI;
daughters, Joan Marcinko of Grand Island and Nancy Manter of Marine City,
MI; sister Catherine Stralder of Enumclaw, WA; six grandchildren; five
great grandchildren.  Harden-Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis.

Evelyn M. Lake

Evelyn M. Lake, 88, of Eustis, Fla, formerly a 42-year resident of
Ferndale, died Thursday, January 4, 2000, in Eustis. She was born
Aug. 22,1912, in Detroit.  Mrs. Lake was a longtime member of St. James
Catholic Church in Ferndale. At the age of 78, she became a 1990 graduate
of Ferndale High School.

She was predeceased by her husband Henry in March 1953.  Surviving are
daughters, Joan Marcinko of Eustis, Fla., Nancy (William) Manter of Marine
City; son, George (Cynthia) Lake of Troy; sister, Catherine Stralser
of Enumclaw, Wash.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation, 2-5 pm. and 7-9 pm. Sunday at Spaulding & Curtin Funeral Home,
500 W Nine Mile, Ferndale; in state, 9.30 a.m. Monday at St. Rene Catholic
Church in Sterling Heights; service, 10 a.m. Monday at the church with
the Rev. Fr. Patrick Casey of St.  Dominic Catholic Church in Detroit
officiating; burial, Oakview Cemetery, RoyalOak.
