Linaberry of Endwell Florence Linaberry, 100, of 616 Sunset Drive, Endwell, passed away at her residence on Friday, August 20, 2004, supported by her many loving neighbors and friends. Florence, the daughter of Charles and May Gere, was born March 28, 1904 in Bridgewater, Pa., and grew up at her family home in Brooklyn, Pa. Her beloved husband, Harold (Romey) died in 1991. Florence was predeceased by three sisters, Helen Cruickshank, Elizabeth Gere, and Emily Thatcher; and a brother, Robert Gere. Florence is survived by a niece, Elizabeth Chapman, Manilus, N.Y.; and a nephew, Robert Thatcher, Ashville, N.C. Florence devoted much of her long life to discovering, enjoying and preserving nature, wildlife and the great outdoors. She was an avid birder and gardener and instilled the beauty of nature in many young children throughout her life. She was devoted to her Church and passionate about the lifelong friendships she made with a wide circle of friends. A memorial service, celebrating Florence's life, will be held at the First Congregational Church in Binghamton on Saturday, September 11, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Christopher Xenakis, Rev. Dr. Phil Mitchell, and Rev. Cliff Aerie will officiate at this celebration. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, 30 Main St., Binghamton, New York 13905. Arrangements are by the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, Inc.
