Lake, 76, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, in the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin. Burial will be in the South Elgin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral chapel. Born Jan. 23, 1930, in Sherry, Wis., the daughter of Anton and Cecilia Lobner, she passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, in her home. Florence graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947, and worked at the telephone company in Chicago. She was a den mother, served with St. Mary's Women's Club, worked in activities at the Fox Valley Nursing Home, and was also activity director and Countryside Manor and worked at New Heritage Real Estate. Florence enjoyed her children, family, gardening and flowers. Survivors include her husband, Wilbur Lake, whom she married in 1952; her children, David (Susan) Lake of Florida, Douglas Lake of South Elgin, Darrell (Jill) Lake of Davis, Ill. and Dean Lake of Staunton, Ill.; grandchildren, Allison, Adam, Katelin and Kelli; and sisters, DaRoma Derezinski of Rudolph, Wis., Lila Feltz of Plover, Wis., Etta Bredl of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. and Marelene (Bill) DeBoer of Sherry, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deborah; a sister, Rosie; and brother, Anthony (Tuffy) Lobner. For information, 847-742-2100.
