Holland Sentinel; Holland MI; 2008-3-25 Forrest Samuel Lake, age 91, went to be with the Lord March 16, 2008, at Brenard Hospice in Rock Ledge, Florida. Forrest was born July 16, 1916 in Rodney, MI, to Dan and Alice Mcewen Lake. He was raised in the Big Rapids area and attended Big Rapids public schools. On November 20, 1937, in Big Rapids, Forrest married Della R. Sias who preceded him in death on December 22, 2005. He was a mechanic for the automotive industry working for Bollinger's for over twenty years and Branch's Auto Dealership for over six years. Forrest was a member of New Life United Methodist Church in Six Lakes, MI. Forrest had many hobbies such as carpentry work -- he could fix and build anything, but his passion was his family and collecting rocks. Forrest was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Della, and his brothers and sisters. Forrest is survived by three sons, John (Kathy) Lake of Colorado Springs, CO, Jerry (Robin) Lake of Merritt Island, FL, Don (Sandy) Lake of Zeeland, MI; one daughter, Gloria (Terry) Smith of Novi, MI; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Services for Forrest will be Friday, March 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, Michigan, with Pastor Anita Hahn officiating. There will be a luncheon following at New Life United Methodist Church in Six Lakes located on M-46. Visitation will be Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
