Frances Harrington, 61, formerly of Edmeston died Saturday, Dec.
19, 1998, at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford.

She was born June 18, 1937, in Franklin, the daughter of William and Flora
(Davis) Lake. On Sept. 24, 1955, in Edmeston she married Fred Harrington. He
predeceased her on June 27, 1986.

Frances was a kind and caring mother and grandmother and will be remembered
for her love of farming. She had been employed as a nurse's aide at Chase
Memorial Nursing Home and was a member of the Pittsfield Fire Department
Auxiliary and the Veteran's Administration Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, David and Brenda Harrington of Columbus,
Brian and Jenny Harrington of New Berlin, Kenneth and Sherry Harrington of
Pittsfield, Susan Eckert and Phillip Wright of Franklin and Cindy and Michael
Vibbard of Sherburne; her brothers and sisters, Marian Mumbulo, Glenda
Nestved, Seymour Bourne, Brownell Lake and Viola Clarke; and numerous
grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Bob and
Charles and sisters, Ernie and Ruth.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at 11 a.m., at the
Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston, with the Rev. Jeff McLallen of
the South Edmeston Community Church officiating. Calling hours are from 7 to
9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated.
Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
