Frank was born dec 2, 1933 in Topeka, the son of Howard and Ethyl McMULLEN LAKE. He grew up in Topeka, graduating from Topeka High School in 1951. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951 - 1953. He married Anna Mae SHAFER Dec 22, 1953 in Winchester KS. He worked as a certified welder for M Katch Company in Topeka for 38 years. He was an avid sportsman and trained Irish setters, English setters, and golden retreivers. He was a Master Instructor for Hunter Safety Education for more that 30 years. He was a member of VFW Post 4175 in Blue Rapids and Waterville. He was also a member of American Legion Post 400 in Topeka. He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Anna Mae LAKE of Blue Rapids; one son, Ronald LAKE of Topeka; four daughters, Janet RICHARDSON of Rossville, Catherine THOMPSON of Topeka, Angela SMITH of Blue Rapids, and Pamela FARRANT of Meriden (KS); four sisters, Mildred TOBUREN of Carbondale (KS), Lois KOON of Mayetta (KS), Erma SOMMERS of Lancaster CA, and Joyce PARKS of Neodesha KS; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb 7, 2006 at 2:00pm at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. He will lie in state Monday from noon - 9pm at Davidson Funeral Home with family visitation from 7:00 - 8:30pm. Interment will be at Half-Day Cemetery with military honors from American Legion Post #400.
