Times-Herald Record Middletown, NY 15 Nov 2008 Fred J. Lake Sr. Montgomery, NY Fred J. Lake, Sr., a retired machinist for American Felt and Filter Co. in Newburgh and a lifetime resident of the area, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2008 at Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center in Campbell Hall, NY. He was 88. The son of the late John Lake and Hattie Krom Lake, he was born on September 4, 1920 in Walden, NY. A Veteran of World War II, Fred served his country in the Army Air Corp as a Sergeant. Survivors include his loving daughter, Barbara Froehlich of Montgomery, NY; loving son, Fred J. Lake, Jr. of Loxahatchee, Florida; loving son, Allan R. Lake of Montgomery, NY; seven loving grandchildren; 12 loving great grandchildren; loving brothers, Donald Lake of Walden and John Lake of Ohio; loving sister, Shirley DePace of Liberty. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Fred is predeceased by his wife, Margaret Lake; his brother, Walter Lake, and his sister, Ethel Hall. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, from 6-9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, NY. Funeral service will take place on Monday at 8 p.m. during the visitation. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory. Burial will be held at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
