From THE REGISTER-GUARD, Eugene, Oregon, 26 January 2005, obituaries: GARY LAKE NOTI--The funeral will be held Jan. 28 for Gary Leonard Lake of Noti, who died Jan. 23 of liver cancer. He was 66. Lake was born Sept. 24, 1938, in Eugene, to Lester and Leora Deedon Lake. He married Donna Strunk on June 30, 1961, in Noti. He graduated from Elmira High school in 1956. He served in the Army, stationed in New Mexico and Korea, from 1961 to 1964. He was a craftsman carpenter and a general contractor specializing in fine finish cabinetry. Lake enjoyed music and played bass guitar. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and experimental aircraft. He had built a street rod. He belonged to Old Time Fiddlers, Emerald Valley Opry and Noti Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sheri Puckette of Corvallis; a son, Michael of Bend; a brother, Frank of Noti; and three grandchildren. Friday's service will be held at 1 p.m. in the Noti Church of Christ. Burial will be in Salor Cemetery in Noti. Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or McKenzie-Willamette Hospice.
