27 January 1983 The People's Defender West Union OH Geneva Chenoweth Expired January 19th Geneva Lake Chenoweth, 68, of 185 Rarden Road, Peebles, died Wednesday, January 19th, at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C., on November 24, 1976. Surviving are two sons, Ernest Dale of West Union and Bobby Keith of Waynesville; a daughter, Micky Lynn Reid of Cincinnati; a step-son, Ray of Peebles; three sisters, Dorothy Jones of Xenia, Okie Jones of New Vienna and Cecile Jones of Wilmington; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brooke Funeral Home, with Rev. James Stone officiating. Burial was in Locust Grove Cemetery. 17 February 1983 The People's Defender West Union OH Geneva Thelma Chenoweth, age 68, was born July 14, 1914 in the Turkey Creek community near Peebles, Ohio, a daughter of John Asher and Nettie Rose (Frost) Lake. She departed this life at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio at 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 1983. Geneva was lovingly cared for by all those around her. On October 31, 1933, she was united in marriage to Ernest C. Chenoweth, who preceded her in death on November 24, 1976. To this union of 43 years they were blessed with two sons and one daughter. Also preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers, Firman, Hugh and James Lake. She leaves behind two sons, Ernest Dale Chenoweth of West Union, Ohio and Bobby Keith Chenoweth of Waynesville, Ohio; one daughter, Micky Lynn Reid of Cincinnati; one step-son, Ray Chenoweth og Peebles; three sisters, Dorothy Jones of Xenia, Ohio, Okie Jones of New Vienna, Ohio and Cecile Jones of Wilmington, Ohio; five grandchildren, Greg Chenoweth of Cincinnati, Kelly Chenoweth of Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Ky., Scott Chenoweth of West Union, Toni (Chenoweth) Lewis of Middletown, Ohio and Chris Chenoweth of Waynesville, and four great-grandchildren, Michael and Jill Lewis of Middletown, and Monica and Allison Chenoweth of Cincinnati. She is also survived by two daughters-in-law, Sharon Chenoweth of West Union and Donna Sue Chenoweth of Waynesville; a son-in-law, Ernie Reid of Cincinnati; grandson-in-law, Norman Lewis of Middletown, and a granddaughter-in-law, Tijuanna Chenoweth of Cincinnati. Geneva attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Peebles. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 1983, at the Brooke Funeral Home, Peebles, with Rev. Jimmy Stone officiating. Burial was in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
