Born in Fortune Bay, NL, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Rhoda (Hillier) Lake. She was a member of United Church Women, St. John's United Church and IODE, Rosemary Chapter. She was a former member of Westmount United Church. Surviving are daughter, Susan Bent, Wilmot; son, Brenton (Marilyn), Corner Brook, NL; sisters, Gladys Rudolph, Halifax; Vida (William) Plumridge and Dorothy Johnson, both of Sydney; grandchildren, Amanda Bent, Wilmot; Jennifer Shaw, Mississauga, Ont.; Jeremy Bullen, Petawawa, Ont. She was predeceased by husband, Robert; brother, Clarence. Visiting 7-9 p.m. today, with funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday, both in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, Rev. Ewen Moase officiating. Visiting will also be 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Sydney Memorial Chapel, Sydney. Interment will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society.
