GEORGE ANNA LAKE, 76, of Memphis, retired Memphis City Schools teacher, died 
of kidney failure Tuesday at Methodist Hospital. Services will be at noon 
Friday at World Overcomers Outreach Ministries on J. W. Williams Lane, where 
she was a former choir member and Sunday School teacher, with burial in 
National Cemetery. M.J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. She was a 
member of the Walker Holmes Chapter of Eastern Star. Mrs. Lake, the widow of 
Jeff William Lake, leaves a daughter, Willie Mae Harper, and three sons, Jeff 
William Lake Jr., Reginald Jerome Lake and John Lequeath Lake, all of 
Memphis; two sisters, Mamie L. Mahone of Memphis and Norma L. Harrell of 
Ripley, Tenn.; three brothers, Charles Tuggle of Dyersburg, Tenn., Rev. 
Arthur Tuggle of Athens, Tenn., and John A. Tuggle of Detroit, nine 
grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
