LAKE, George G.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, in Sandy
Baptist Church for George G. Lake, who died Jan. 25 at age 91.

Mr. Lake was born June 12, 1912, in Gresham, where he lived all his life
He graduated from Gresham Union High School.  During World War II, he
served in the Coast Guard in the South Pacific and the Aleutians.  He was
a fruit farmer on the family homestead in Gresham for more than 50 years,
and also an assistant manager for the Multnomah County Farm at Edgefield
for 15 years.  In 1943, he married Wanda Decker; she died in 1998.

Survivors include his daughters, Janet Hedum and Susan Newlands; six
grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
