George Lake - LAKE - At North Bay on Friday, July 13th, 2001, George
Lake passed away. George Lake, beloved husband of the late Joyce Lake
(nee Brittlebank). Dearly loved father of Jennifer Griffith (Kevin)
of South River, Michael Lake (Debra) of Calgary and Robert Lake (Karen)
of Edmonton.

Lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren. Dear brother of Mary Sprague
of Oakville, Eileen Beley of Rosseau, Dorothy Asbury of Bracebridge,
Anne Driscoll of Powassan, Joyce Hills of Kinmount and Jim Lake of St.
Catharines.

Mr. Lake was a resident of Powassan for many years, where he worked
with his father, J. B. Lake, publishing the Powassan News. He was a
World War II veteran serving with the 15th Canadian Field Regiment,
Royal Canadian Artillery. Mr. Lake was a member of the Royal Canadian
Legion, Branch 453, Powassan.

Funeral Service was conducted at St. John's Anglican Church, North Bay, on
Wednesday at 11:00 a. m. Interment St. John's Anglican Cemetery. Donations
to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be gratefully appreciated. As
expressions of sympathy donations to Kidney Foundation would be greatly
acknowledged by the family. Funeral arrangements under the direction
of the McGuinty Funeral Home, 591 Cassells Street, North Bay, Ontario,
