Redding Record Searchlight; Redding CA; 2006-6-20 LAKE -- Graveside services for former Shasta County resident Colonel George Lake, 81, of Silver Lake, WA will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Anderson District Cemetery. Mr. Lake died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the Portland VA Medical Center in Portland, OR. Born March 1, 1925 in Onaway, MI he moved to Shasta County in the late 1960s from Southern California, and moved to Washington in 2003. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was a retired sawmill worker at a sawmill in Anderson, member of TOC Woodworkers Union, and a lifetime member of Toutle Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10882 in Toutle, WA. Survivors include stepson Leroy Robuck of Vancouver, WA; sister Doris Buben of Anderson; and one grandchild.
