Born in Harrison, N.J., he was a son of the late Fredrick and Mary Madden Lake. He retired from Bendix Corp., Teteboro, N.J. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the V.F.W. and was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include his wife of the home; five sisters, Audrey Bajkowski of Kearny, N.J., Joan Fearns of Harrison, Marylyn Polomski of Nutley, N.J., Shirley Durand of Ringwood, N.J., and Evelyn McMahon of Fords, N.J.; and two brothers, Phillip Lake of Greenwood and Henry Lake of Ohio. Prayer services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Harley Funeral Home, with Father Tom McHugh officiating. Burial is in Oakbrook Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6-8 Wednesday at the funeral home.
