Idaho Statesman; Boise ID; 2001-2-4 George Ray Lake, 75 of Idaho Falls, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of a lingering illness. He was born Fe. 1, 1926, at Arroyo Grande, Calif., to Lynn L. Lake and Anna Ray Connelly Lake. He grew up and attended schools in Roberts, Idaho. He lived in Glenns Ferry for a short time, and has lived in Idaho Falls for 29 years. He served in the U.S. Navy as a storekeeper third class during World War II. He married Jessie Mahan, to which five sons were born. They were later divorced. He married Bonnie Faye Farmer at Elko, Nev. He was a member of the Elks and Eagles lodges, and the American Legion. He was a pioneer of deep well land development and worked as a land developer, farmer and potato broker. He enjoyed long drives, dancing and storytelling. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cardio-Pulmonary Lab, in the name of George Lake, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Fay Farmer Lake of Idaho Falls; sons, George J. Lake of Shelley, Bailey D. Lake of Idaho Falls, Lynn Mahan Lake of Austin, Texas, Acel Farmer of Idaho Falls, Robin Farmer of Idaho Falls, Mike Farmer of Idaho Falls, Jody Farmer of Boise; sister, Sara May Griffen of Paul; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Leslie K.; a daughter, Melanie Farmer; and brothers, Lynn C. and James Lake. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Monday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday for one hour prior to the services, both at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park, under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, Idaho Falls.
